Recommended things to bring . . .
- Bring a lock for your lock box.LCIBB provides a lock but for maximum security bring you own lock. (LCIBB is not responsible for any damage to or loss of your belongings.)
- Small first aid kit (health care options are often inconvenient for minor issues and far between in Nicaragua). Suggestions to include in your kit:
- Antiseptic
- Triple Antibiotic
- Band-Aids
- Athletic tape
- Pain/fever reliever
- Nausea, diarrhea, and sinus congestion medications.
- Antiseptic wipes
- Gauze
- Bug spray
- Information for contacting your travel insurance carrier.
- Enable cell phone for Nica cell service.
- Flashlight or headlamp (you are coming to a third world country, there are not streetlights everywhere).
- Waterproof Pancho (recommended)
- Large trash bags and smaller zip locks to protect your luggage, phone and computer from salt spray and rain during your boat crossing.
- Bring US$ (clean and not torn are all that is accepted in Nicaragua), Cordobas and a Credit Card (12% convenience fee applies to card use here at LCIBB, around the island, the few businesses that do accept cards charge up to 10%).We recommend you bring cash for incidentals and check in to avoid these high fees.
- Clean, not torn US$ are legal tender in Nicaragua.
- Battery operated alarm clock (no wake-up service at LCIBB).
- Light sweater
- Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- Plug receptacles are North American style
- Book
- Daypack
- Personal snorkel gear if a guided trip is not on your agenda
Recommended actions to take . . .
- Make your La Costena flight reservations as early as possible (limited seats and flights available). If you are unable to make reservation on line, call their reservations desk.
- Charge devices here while village power is on 1pm to 6am.
- Cover your devices with waterproof covering for transit to and from LCI.
- Take special note of La Costena’s luggage weight restrictions and extra charges.
- Notify LCIBB at least 48 hours in advance which boat, 4:30pm commercial or the airport pickup charter (highly recommended) you will arrive upon
- Assistance from the dock to LCIBB provided with the regular 4:30pm panga.
- Make your dive reservations with Dolphin Dive prior to arrival to insure availability 011 505 8917 9717. Let them know you are staying with us.
- Carefully review cancellation/refund policies of Little Corn Island Beach and Bungalow at littlecornbb.com.
- Carefully review our FAQ’s page on the site to minimize surprises and maximize enjoyment while you are here.
- Purchase quality trip insurance (There are NO refunds under any conditions/circumstances at LCIBB).
- Pack your flashlight/headlamp in an easily accessible spot if you are arriving in the evening to LCI.You may need it to see what can be muddy trails at night.
- Wear your Waterproof Pancho on the open boat to LCI (there will be salt spray and possible rain).
- Bring US$ and/or Nicaraguan Cordobas with you to the island.There are NO ATM’s, banks, western unions or mail services on Little Corn Island and credit card fees are high. At LCIBB, 12%, others that do accept cards up to 10%. US$ must not be torn, unmarked and in good condition to be accepted in Nicaragua.
- No mail services makes returning lost items impossible. Double check that you have left nothing behind before you check out.
- Refill complimentary purified water when restaurant is open.
